Private John Turner is my great uncle i never really knew about him until they identify him. My grandmother never spoke about her brother to me or my father. She said it was to hard to talk about him and his brother who died in WW1. Sadly she passed away without knowing what ever happened to her brother he was the only ever found. I have photos of him and he lives on through my daughter she has his eyes and has the same look on her face as well.

Gday Kerrin, private john james turner was my great grandads brother Harold Turner..my sister Kylie and I have been doing a bit of research of the turners and urban Parr, I think there story is remarkable story that should be remembered and passed down to future generations if you have any information or pictures that you could share that would be great as we are putting something together for my father Wayne Turner son of Charles Turner which is Robert James Grandson,we have some photos and documents that we would could copy and share with you as well really look forward to hearing from you. .

John was my great great uncle. My daughter Faryn also has a strong resemblance. It is tragic that celesta and Robert lost 2 sons in WW1. James died at Lone Pine Gallipoli. The famil moved from Dubbo to Sydney after the war. They could not go on living in the house which had so many memories of Jack and Jim. It was wonderful to be notified by the army that he had been identified. We had been waiting for a long time.
The government knew in 1918 or before where these boys were buried. It is very sad that it took so long for action to be taken. There are other burial sites to be investigated as well ie Bullecourt.
